Say Yes to the Dress – Part V

This is my last post on my dress…so you know what that means…I FOUND ONE! My last post left off with me leaving the bridal shop in Alexandria primarily due to the fact that the dress just didn’t feel right and I felt like it looked a little cheap. I made an appointment with a shop in Richmond and had to drive down for the day to prayerfully find my wedding dress. On Friday morning, I got up and drove down to Richmond with a good feeling. There was something about going back to my hometown that made me feel like I’d find my dress. I arrived about 15 (okay maybe 20) minutes ahead of my parents and described to my bridal consultant what I was looking for, complete with pictures of course, and up we got to walk around the bridal salon picking dresses.

In all, I took about 7 dresses back to the dressing room. On the way back, we picked up one more dress that was a new arrival, a little more than what I wanted to pay, but was perfect in terms of style. I honestly don’t even remember the first few dresses I tried on and my parents (finally) arrived around dress #3. In the end, it came down to two dresses. One was beautiful and a little different and the other was a little plain. I walked the length of the bridal salon at least twice in both dresses and added accessories too.

I just couldn’t decide between the two, until we added one extra piece and my eyes lit up! I did one more lap around the bridal salon, stood on the carpeted box in the mirror, and said, “I’m going to say yes to the dress! This is is MY wedding dress.” And no, I’m seriously not kidding I did say that. My mom cheered and smiled. My Dad said, “Okay.” And the bridal consultant hugged me. I FINALLY felt like a bride!

I’d like to thank Phyllis from Bella Rosa for an amazing and personal bridal experience. She really listened to what I wanted, kept me focused, and was such a pleasure to work with.

I can’t wait to wear my dress on May 26th!! It had just arrived when I came in and I was the first bride to purchase it. 😀
