Say Yes to the Dress – Part IV

When I last left off, I’d had quite a day and decided to take my parents and sister back to the first bridal shop to see the expensive, but beautiful dress. I left…with nothing, and gave myself a deadline (the trunk show) to try on other dresses before I purchased this dress. I just didn’t want to drag out the entire process and worried that I’d end up in dress paralysis and find anything. When I last left off, I had just experienced the infamous Running of the Brides with my Dad, Mom, and sister. After eating and debriefing, I decided that since my parents were in DC, we should try to visit the first bridal salon to try on dresses. This way, they could see the dress I was still semi-loving in the flesh. I say semi-loving because while the dress fit my body type perfectly (and I’m not just saying that), it didn’t have that “Wow” and I didn’t get that “I feel like a bride” vibe from it. Dana kept saying that she didn’t feel like the dress would necessarily photograph well, which to Daniel and I, is really important because after all is said and done – we’ll have memories, photographs, and a video to reflect on.
